This time spending a full day at the 17th Annual HPC-AI Advisory Council Swiss Conference in Locarno.

It’s rare to be in a room where the people actually building the frontier of AI are the ones speaking. Today was one of those days, deep technical sessions on how these systems are really constructed, the hardware behind them, and where the current limits are.
The theory part was some of the best I’ve ever heard. Huge thanks to CSCS, ETH Zürich and in particular Carlos Cotrini Jiménez.
The only thing that’s a bit unsettling (and honest): even here, among hardcore scientists and researchers who are literally pushing the field forward, there’s a clear consensus that none of us fully understand how these neural networks actually work internally. They operate in ways that feel almost alien, in dimensions we can’t intuitively grasp.
Grateful to be in the room and keep learning.
